Antoinette (Toni) Lilian Barr passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Columbus Ohio at the age of 78. She graduated from high school in Dillonvale, Ohio, came to Columbus to attend Bliss College, and went to work thereafter with Battelle Memorial Institute. She and husband, Michael were married for 55 years and have been members of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish since 1974.
Toni’s life revolved around her family, friends and her faith, living each day with these priorities in mind. Preceded in death by parents Marion and Lottie; siblings Joseph, Helen, Julia and Leon. She is survived by her loving husband Michael; her two children Paul and Jennifer (Chris); her grandchildren, Elena, Satia, Jackson and Riley; her two siblings, Marianne and Frank; and countless additional relatives and friends who she all considered part of her family.
Toni was generous to all. She elected very early to be a homemaker and raise her children. She was known for her cooking and baking skills, always feeding her family and teaching friends how to make pierogi. Toni and Mike gave abundant time to their Church, supporting the festival, Pre-Cana, and Adoration. Continuing to show her benevolent and charitable spirit in her last days, Toni’s final wish was to donate her body to the OSU Medical School.
Family and friends will be received at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish (807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, OH) on Saturday, August 12, at 11 AM, followed by Mass at noon and a lunch thereafter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OSU cancer research or St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish.
