As we close the book on the year 2020, let us reflect on our thoughts for the year. 2020 will always be remembered as the pandemic year that changed the world. It was a world that seemed at times to stand very still. Tougher than most years! A year of challenges for the whole world. Stressful, chaotic, uncertainty, scary times, struggles, and unexpected events that we have never seen before in our lifetime. Maybe we heard stories from our parents or grandparents of the last pandemic in 1918. I know that I did! How about you?
As we say good bye to 2020, instead of remembering all the difficulties we all have experienced this year let us look at what some of the good things that happened to us.
I ask you to reflect on what this pandemic year has somehow brightened your life? We know that every day is a gift from God. Every day may not always be good or how we planned it. But there is something good in every day. You need to stop in time to reflect, pray, and see what is around you each and every day. You can then see all the good that is around you.
May you find a reason to smile and pick joy each morning. To find purpose to guide you throughout the day. With peace in your life to rest securely every night. May you always feel blessed in your life of what God has given you.
This was not an easy year for many of us, but we made it. Despite all of what was thrown at us in 2020. We can be thankful for the memories and the life lessons learned from this year. Now is time to put 2020 behind us and look forward to the new year ahead of us.
With the new year we can start to think about our New Year’s resolutions. A perfect resolution to the new year is to purchase tickets to the Catholic Men’s Virtual Conference. What a way to start out the new year and consider who would you invite to the conference. Check out the 2021 Men’s Conference tab on the St Matthew Parish website for all the information to the largest Catholic Men’s Conference in the country. You can invite anyone from around the world to attend the conference for only ten dollars.
I pray that all of you have a better 2021, be safe, stay healthy, and may God keep you safe in his arms. God bless you and your families!
