Where to Start
We suggest that families start by contacting the funeral home that will be handling the arrangements. There are many details to consider when planning a funeral, and the funeral home will know how to coordinate all of these details. Once you have talked to the funeral home, they will contact us to schedule the Mass.
Our parish recently held a funeral planning seminar with Fr. Sill and Bob Ryan from Egan-Ryan Funeral Services explaining the funeral planning process and answering questions. To view a recording of the seminar, click HERE.
Planning the Mass
Once you have scheduled the Mass, we ask that you make an appointment with one of our priests to plan the details of the funeral Mass, including options for readings and music. Your family is welcome to start discussing details prior to that meeting; a copy of our funeral planning form is linked below, as both a PDF and online form. Options for readings and hymns are linked at the bottom of this page. Even if you start planning on your own, we still ask that you meet with a priest to discuss your choices.

As our ministry to you, we will provide all liturgical ministers for the funeral Mass, including a lector, musicians, and altar servers.
After the Funeral
We know that the grieving period does not end when the funeral is over, so someone from our parish will follow up with you periodically to see how we can continue to support you during this time. If you would like additional community support, we offer a GriefShare group. GriefShare is a welcoming group of people who will walk alongside you through your journey. The group is led by people who understand what you are going through and who want to help. For more information, contact Mary Lager by email at: [email protected] or call 614-395-9099 (and please leave a message).
If you are interested in grief counseling outside a parish group, Cornerstone of Hope is a local organization that provides grief support. They also offer camps specifically for grieving children. Click here for more information about Cornerstone of Hope.
Lazarus Ministry
Members of our Lazarus Ministry commit to praying for the deceased members of our parish and for their families. With each family's permission, we will share funeral information with this group, as well. If you are a parishioner who would like to be added to the Lazarus Ministry contact list, please click HERE.
Many families ask us if there is a particular need in the parish to which they can request family and friends direct donations in memory of a loved one. We are happy to discuss any ideas you might have.
Stained Glass Windows
Our parish is in the process of adding beautiful stained glass windows around the perimeter of the church.
If you would like to consider asking for donations toward the cost of a stained glass window in memory of your loved one, please let us know.
