At what age do we confirm? 

At Saint Matthew, Confirmation preparation is a two year process. 

In year one (typically 7th grade), students must participate in our Family of Faith religious education program OR be enrolled in our parish school. During year one, candidates complete the first half of the Chosen Confirmation curriculum. 

In year two (typically 8th grade), students must participate in our Family of Faith religious education program OR be enrolled in our parish school. During year two, students complete the Chosen curriculum, attend several preparation sessions, complete a Confirmation portfolio, and go on a one day retreat. The Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred during the Spring of the second year.

What is the date for Confirmation this year?
The date for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation depends on the schedule of Bishop Fernandes. His office will assign our date in the coming months and we will let our candidates know that date as soon as we receive it.

What about teenagers and adults who have not been confirmed?

What if I have been asked to be a Confirmation sponsor at another parish?
If you are an active, participating member of Saint Matthew Parish, click here to access a form that explains the qualifications for a sponsor. This form may be submitted to the Saint Matthew Parish Office for approval.
